Nephi, in The Book of Mormon, kept two sets of records. One of the records was a secular history of his people which he referred to as “the large plates”. The other record was a spiritual record concerning mainly with the dealings of the Nephites (those who followed Nephi) and the Lamanites (those who followed Laman). That record was recorded on “the small plates”. Most of The Book of Mormon is an abridgement of those small plates. Nephi kept these records as he was commanded by the Lord to do so. While I have not been commanded of the Lord, I have put up this site following Nephi as an example. Joey Day has also been a big inspiration. intends to be a spirtual record of my life. Topics could cover anything from scripture study to prayer, attending services to family home evening. Of course, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will not be the only religion spoken of on this site. Non-Christian religions, such as Muslims, Buddhists, Hindus and others will be spoken of as well as Christian religions including Methodists, Baptists, Protestants and others. In other words, this site will be a big melting pot of things spiritual and my growth as a member of the LDS Church.

My name is Aaron Toponce, and I am a return missionary for the LDS Church. I served my full-time mission in the Canada Toronto East Mission. Initally, I was called to server in Montreal, Canada. In the first couple months of my mission, there was a boundary change, and the City of Kingston that I was serving in was affected. Six missionaries switch missions from Montreal to Toronto East. For me, it was the most rewarding two years of my life. With Toronto as one of the most multicultural cities in the world, I met people from all walks of life from every corner of the globe. I refer to my mission as a world mission, because I literally taught a native from every country speaking almost every dialect of the world (I only speak English, but the people I taught spoke many different languages). It was during my mission that I met my future bride. She was also serving as a sister missionary in Toronto. We weren’t attracted to each other until she and I had returned home from our missions, and her mom lined us up.

My wife and I live in Ogden, Utah and have to two best boys in the world- Max and Sam. No, we don’t have kids, they are our dogs, but we sure do treat them like kids. They are as spoiled as you can get, and that is okay. Every Sunday, we take them down to the park to get a healthy dose of exercise. My wife is a 2nd grade school teacher with her own website I am a Data Engineer for a market research company called Venture Data. My professional blog can be found at
